LED Street Lights Save Money and Help the Environment

With rapid advances in semiconductor technology, LEDs are becoming the ideal solution for street lighting and other outdoor spaces. Because of their long lifespan, uniform brightness and lighting, LEDs are the next generation of lighting. This state-of-the-art technology delivers a maximum light output and uses much less energy than traditional street lighting.

Unsurprisingly, LEDs are becoming one of the most economical, environmentally friendly and energy-efficient products in the world. They are extremely cost-effective, with costs down by 50% and are designed for energy efficiency as well as environmental sustainability. The rapid growth of this technology offers incredible quality and performance, making it very likely that LEDs will completely replace conventional lighting technologies in a few years.

An example of cost savings and our environment by replacing old streetlights with new LED lighting: The City of Ann Arbor, Michigan, last year installed 58 new street light LED  in some rental housing areas nearby University. Ann Arbor was looking for ways to improve lighting in the area while keeping costs as low as possible. These new Street lighting fixtures are expected to reduce energy costs by 50% and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Since Ann Arbor will save nearly $6,000 a year on its energy bill, the cost of these LED Street lighting manufacturer will be depreciated in 4 years.

Ann Arbor has made a conscious effort to begin replacing its outdoor fixtures with LED streetlights since 2006. The city has installed more than 1,300 LED lights since then and has hundreds more planned for years to come.

The LED technology is the best option for cities, it can save them large sums, reduce carbon dioxide emissions and significantly reduce maintenance costs, as LED streetlights do require generally no maintenance for 10 years. Conventional Street lighting is a thing of the past, with most cities and many private landowners now moving to new technology at a rapid pace.

Because LEDs are extremely versatile, they are suitable for a variety of lighting applications and offer maximum light output and energy savings. In addition to streets and roads, LEDs can be used to illuminate car parks, narrow alleyways, gas stations and many other Street spaces with virtually no maintenance. The switch to this technology is clearly the most responsible and environmentally friendly choice and its installation helps to make the land better.
